Chantry mansion house makes an idyllic backdrop for your wedding photos

Wedding Photography RECCE of Chantry Park Suffolk

Next month I’m photographer for a wedding at Ipswich Registry Office. We were planning on taking some photos at Christchurch Park afterwards but as I discovered last week parking is almost impossible.

This morning I went to Chantry Park for a quick reconnaissance trip to see whether it’ll make a suitable alternative.

I was pleasantly surprised to find it very quiet during the day. That’s great news as it’s a mid-week wedding.

The park was generally in very good condition with well maintained lawns. The back of the mansion house makes a nice backdrop. Unfortunately it’s in full sun, which is bad news when it comes to group photos. At the bottom of the garden there are a few steps up to a path that leads into the surrounding grounds of the park. Along each side of the path is a row of conifer type trees. The steps will be great for group photos giving another dimension to the pictures. Also the sun will behind the wedding party that will help separate them from the background. There are many large trees creating spaces of open shade, which creates a much softer light for some bride and groom shots.

I had several other errands to run this morning so only had my mobile phone with me. But these snap shots give a nice illustration of the described areas.
