The Ipswich Holiday Inn was the wedding venue for Natasha and Dean’s wedding reception following their ceremony at Ipswich Registry Office.
We continue Natasha and Dean’s story at Chantry Park where we went after their ceremony for their free hour of creative wedding photography. Click here to see their Ipswich Registry Office wedding photography
Chantry Park was ideal for the bride and groom to escape the hustle and bustle of their wedding day.
Their chauffeur parked the Rolls Royce wedding car at the front of the Sue Ryder home. This created a perfect back drop for their wedding photos with the wedding car. And the bride and groom enjoyed a glass of champaign. Fortunately there weren’t too many cars so it was possible to get a virtually unobstructed view of the wedding car and the house.

We took a stroll round the back of the mansion house for wedding photos in the beautifully maintained gardens before continuing the journey to the Ipswich Holiday Inn. I took a few formal wedding photos of the bride and groom with a nicer background than the registry offer.

I arrived a few minutes before the wedding car. The wedding guests were eagerly awaiting their arrival. And the Holiday Inn laid out the red carpet!
After the Wedding Breakfast we had an hour or so before the disco. The guests were eager to have some more wedding photos. We took some fun pictures on the grounds behind the hotel with the bride and her bridesmaids. But it wasn’t long before all the guys wanted to get in on the act!

There was still some time before their evening buffet and first dance. The bride and groom were enjoying their wedding photography so much, we ventured off to find a few locations around the hotel to create a few more artistic photos.
This was my first opportunity to use my Canon 5D Mk2 for a first dance. The camera is able to take photographs in incredibly low light situations, which made it possible to take photos without a flashgun. Using only the disco lights helps recreate the true atmosphere in a very dark room.
I was inspired to capture movement and energy, so set my Canon 1Ds for very slow exposures. But my inspiration didn’t end there. After the first dance I fitted a fish-eye lens to the camera for some funky party shots on the dance floor.

It's time to.... PARTY
