Here are some engagement pictures from last Sunday’s lifestyle portrait photography session with Lucy and Rich. Lucy and Rich were keen to experience being in front of my camera before their big day next year.
We met in Alexander Park for a few casual shots before heading off to the Ipswich Waterfront for some funky urban lifestyle portraiture. The sun was shining but there were several places in the park giving top-shade to give a nice soft light.
Bride and groom to be enjoying a lifestyle portrait in the park.
Playing around for a fun engagement picture.
The bride and groom to be taking a stroll through the park whilst I look ahead for our next suitable location.
Our next location was in the full sun so I got Lucy and Rich to put on their sun glasses.
Careful positioning of Lucy and Rich is key to capturing the catch-lights in their sunglasses.
This contemporary style of portraiture is well suited to playing with highly saturated colours.
A fish-eye lens is great for capturing the environment. But it must be done correctly not to overly distort your subject
Ipswich Waterfront still has a few neat derelict areas to be explored but these may not survive much longer as redevelopment picks up again.
There was no escape from the full sun on the waterfront so I asked them to bring sunglasses so we could take some contemporary fashion shots along the quayside.
We all had a great time and they were both thrilled with their pre-wedding pictures. Lucy said:
“Pat these are awesome! Thanks so much, can’t believe how quickly you’ve got them uploaded as well (tho I will admit to hoping all day you might manage to!)”
Your engagement pictures are perfect for a signature portrait print for guests to sign on their wedding day. They also make great table place markers on your wedding tables.
