Bride and groom walking in front of Otley Hall Suffolk

Ipswich Wedding Photographer goes to top Suffolk wedding venue Otley Hall for Sarah and Pete’s wedding.

Sarah didn’t want her bridal preparations covered so I went directly to Otley Hall.

Otley Hall’s wedding planner met me on arrival and gave me a brief tour. The venue is a private home most of the year only opening for wedding parties. Two rooms are opened for wedding ceremonies and signing the register. A large marquee provides ample accommodation for the wedding party celebrations. And the back of the house is perfect for wedding group photos offering shelter from glaring sun. All the gardens are open for the bride and groom photos. And the house can be kept open on request.

Pete the groom arrived with his bestman as I photographed the venue and wedding cake. The day started building momentum as the first guests arrived.

Sarah the bride was very organized and arrived early. I rushed over to stop the wedding car driver. The groom was still outside greeting their guests! Once Pete was inside, I signalled to the driver to bring the car round the front of Otley Hall.

The Roll Royce window wouldn't fully open. The driver supported me balancing on the running board to photograph the bride looking out of the wedding car.

Otley Hall is an idyllic venue for the wedding ceremony with dark panelled walls and antique artefacts complete the atmosphere. The rooms are very bright near the windows but fades quickly. This is challenging to photograph. Skilled creative photography is essential to successfully capture your wedding’s atmosphere as seen here.

I ask the Bride and groom to do silly things like touching noses, which always produces great expressions.

The wedding marquee is on an adjacent lawn behind Oatly Hall so the wedding group photos ran very smoothly. The bride and groom then relax with their guests. The guests emotions are captured with reportage wedding photography. Shortly before the mock wedding cake cutting, I took the bride and groom off for a few more pictures in the rose garden and around the front of Otley Hall.

Sarah and Pete greeted all the guests with a wedding line before receiving their wedding breakfast.  Before leaving, I checked with the bride and groom to see if they required any more wedding photography.
