Photojournalist Wedding Photographer scoops Bronze Award

by Pat Bloomfield on 24/01/2010

I am very pleased get seven Bronze awards out of seven entries in the SWPP monthly competitions.  This is the first of three that come under wedding photography.

The SWPP has raised the standards required to achieve awards this year, making even a Bronze a great achievement.  This put me in two minds whether to submit this image but the visual design appealed to me.  And I felt it met the category for wedding photojournalism well.  This is the SWPP definition for photojournalism wedding photography:

“Something which has had no intervention by the photographer. Not set up in any way at all. A natural moment which tells a story. Commissioned weddings only…”

I usually covert my photojournalism / reportage images to black & white but felt the pink bridesmaids dresses make this better in colour.

Will you love or hate your wedding photography?
