Essex Wedding Photography Layer Marney Tower Colchester

by Pat Bloomfield on 19/04/2010

Real Wedding Photography from Layer Marney Tower near Colchester in Essex.

Summer and Chris hired Layer Marney Tower for their wedding ceremony and went to Colchester for their wedding reception.  Layer Marney tower has great character and makes a fabulous venue for any wedding.  It’s filled with many great picturesque locations, which is perfect for you wedding photography.

The only drawer back is that Layer Marney Tower and gardens face south, which is the view you’ll be familiar with.  Therefore it bears the full brunt of the sun.  Group shots need to be taken away from the main tower in bright sun light. But with imagination it’s possible to take some great images of the bride & groom with the tower in the background.

Layer Marney Tower dates back to the first half of Henry VIII’s reign and is iconic with its Tudor architecture.

Layer Marney Tower makes a great wedding venue being available for wedding ceremonies and receptions throughout the year with the Corsellis Room for up to 120 guests or in the hall of the gatehouse with up to 15 guests.  Wedding Receptions take place in the Long Gallery.  The Long Gallery is an amazing room with oak flooring & panelling that can seat up to 140 guests for a meal.
