As you know, Trash The Dress is a phenomenon that started America a few years ago.  It actually all started in 2001 when John Michael Cooper set light to a Bride’s dress worn by a model.  The resulting image of the dress going up in flames has become an icon for Trash The Dress.  But never repeated.  However the image that has become synonymous with Trash The Dress was based on Shakespeare’s Othello.  It is an image of a bride floating on her back in a river.  You may have seen  images of newly wed brides in a river or sea.  You can see these images and many more at www.altf.com/ for your inspiration.

The next day shoot is sometimes referred to as Fearless Bridal and Rock The Frock.  This is  contemporary fashion photography;  taking a beautiful bride in elegant wedding dress and  photographing her in an environment in stark contrast.  You will often see images of brides in the sea but it could be in city streets, on roof tops, derelict buildings, fields or literally anywhere – limited only by imagination.

Your Next Day Shoot is usually after the wedding but not necessarily.  This is a great opportunity for couples and girls on their own to have a great experience.  You can pick up a prom dress or an old wedding dress easily from a charity shop.

A trend stemming from this is to literally trash the dress; declaring that the wedding dress is finished with and won’t be required again.  This is seen as an alternative to storing your wedding dress, never to be seen again.

You may have strong views on literally destroying your personal wedding dress.  But remember if you love the idea of having a great fun shoot but don’t want to destroy your dress – you can easily get a charity dress very cheaply.

My Next Day Shoot can be as tame or wild as you wish.

What better way to carry on the celebrations?

You will probably have time to kill after your celebrations before leaving for the honeymoon.  This can be an agonising time.  Instead you could go out and have some fun.

Let your hair down.  Enjoy the opportunity to dress up to play without the stress of the wedding day.  No need to worry if your dress gets wet or dirty.

His suit may have gone back to the hire shop but that doesn’t mean he can’t join in the fun.  Casual wear works great – pair of jeans and a shirt is all that’s needed.

Not only will you have a great time, you will get fantastic pictures to complete your wedding album.  Really make a statement and get a really large framed print or canvas to hang on your living room wall.  It will be a focal point with your friends and family.

I recently participated in a photo shoot with Pat – he was great! Very professional indeed. All the time, making sure the atmosphere was a relaxed and a fun one. He endeavoured to ensure that we were both in tune as to what was required from the shoot.

Although the weather was not great, his ability to work around the rain and still produce some fantastic shots, showed his skill and patience in the art of photography.

We participated in some fun river shots (which although freezing cold) provided some unique on location results. With Pat even offering at one stage, (brave man) to get cold in the river as well – just to show his support for the effort involved in the shoot!!

A true professional throughout, resulting in some pretty spectacular work!

When you book your wedding don’t forget to ask about your opportunity for a Next Day Shoot.
